Abstract

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a symptom of cardiovascular disease that causes acute myocardial infarction. The longer duration of coronary artery occlusion, the higher degree of damage to myocardium, leading to the sudden cardiac arrest. Therefore, patients with ACS need to be efficiently treated by a multidisciplinary team. The article aims to reveal challenges of emergency nurses in providing quality critical care for ACS patients following the 2017 ESC Guidelines for the Management of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Patients Presenting with ST-segment Elevation.
