The Role of Dental Personnel in Tobacco Control Research During 2020-2023

วัตถุประสงค์: 1. เพื่อสำรวจประเด็นและประเมินคุณภาพงานวิจัยด้านการควบคุมยาสูบที่ดำเนินการโดย ทันตบุคลากร ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ และ 2. เพื่อระบุช่องว่างของการวิจัยเพื่อเติมเต็มวงจรนโยบายด้านการช่วยเลิกบุหรี่และป้องกันนักสูบหน้าใหม่ วัสดุอุปกรณ์และวิธีการ: โดยการทบทวนขอบเขตงานวิจัย ผู้วิจัยตรวจสอบบทความวิจัยที่ตีพิมพ์ในช่วง พ.ศ.2563-2566 จากวารสารในประเทศและต่างประเทศจากฐานข้อมูล PubMed และ Scopus ผลการศึกษา: งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องจำนวน 43 ฉบับ ได้รับการวิเคราะห์ และจัดหมวดหมู่ให้สอดคล้องกับกรอบอนุสัญญาว่าด้วยการควบคุมยาสูบ องค์การอนามัยโลก และนโยบาย MPOWER ในจำนวนนี้มีบทความวิจัยภาษาไทย จำนวน 10 เรื่อง ซึ่งมีความสอดคล้องกับแผนปฏิบัติการด้านการควบคุมยาสูบแห่งชาติ ฉบับที่ 3 พ.ศ. 2565–2570 บทความส่วนใหญ่ทั้งจากวารสารต่างประเทศและวารสารในประเทศ เน้นไปที่การประเมินความรู้ ความตระหนักในการให้คำปรึกษาเลิกบุหรี่ และการให้บริการเลิกบุหรี่ ส่วนคุณภาพการวิจัยพบว่าร้อยละ 70.59 มีคุณภาพระดับสูง และร้อยละ 23.52 มีคุณภาพระดับปานกลาง สรุป: ที่ผ่านมาเห็นบทบาทของทันตบุคลากรที่ชัดเจนในงานวิจัยด้านรูปแบบและประสิทธิผลในด้านการ บำบัดรักษาช่วยให้เลิกบุหรี่ รองลงมาเป็นการติดตามประเมินผลมาตรา 14 มาตรา 20-22 และมาตรา 12 ซึ่งยังมีช่องว่างทางการวิจัยในด้านการออกแบบงานของทันตบุคลากรให้เชื่อมโยงกับด้านสาธารณสุขอื่น ๆ รวมถึงการใช้เทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่มาช่วยลดภาระงานและสร้างทักษะของทันตบุคลากรในการสร้างแรงจูงใจในการเลิกบุหรี่และงานวิจัยเชิงกระบวนการนโยบายโดยเฉพาะขั้นตอนการกำหนดเป็นนโยบายและการขยายผลของมาตรการ Abstract Objective: 1. to explore the issues and assess the quality of tobacco control research, both national and international, conducted by dental professionals, and 2. to identify research gaps to complete the policy cycle for smoking cessation and prevention. Materials and Methods: By scoping review, we examined research articles published from 2020 to 2023 in journals listed in the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) and international journals indexed in PubMed and Scopus. Results: Forty-three research studies were analyzed and categorized aligning with the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and the MPOWER policy. Among these, 10 were Thai-language articles, which were consistent with the National Tobacco Control Action Plan, Phase 3 (2022–2027). Most articles from international and domestic journals focused on the assessment of knowledge, awareness in smoking cessation counseling, and smoking cessation services. In terms of research quality, 70.59% were of high quality, and 23.52% were of moderate quality. Conclusions: The role of dental personnel in research on the model development and effectiveness of smoking cessation treatment has been clearly seen, followed by monitoring and evaluation of FCTC article 14, 20-22, and 12. There are research gaps in designing dental personnel’s work to be integrated with other public health aspects. This includes the use of modern technology to help reduce workloads and develop dental personnel’s skills in creating motivation for smoking cessation, and research on policy processes, especially the policy-making process and scaling up of interventions.Downloads
