แนวทางการใช้ประโยชน์เชิงอุตสาหกรรมของเส้นใยใบสับปะรด Industrial Utilization Concept for Pineapple Leaf Fiber

Abstract

ในปัจจุบันความยั่งยืนเป็นสิ่งที่ทุกคนให้ความสำคัญ และเป็นตัวขับเคลื่อนให้เกิดเศรษฐกิจชีวฐาน บริษัทชั้นนำ กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรม และรัฐบาลของประเทศอุตสาหกรรมชั้นนำ ได้พัฒนาการใช้เส้นใยธรรมชาติในอุตสาหกรรมต่าง ๆ อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม โดยใช้เส้นใยที่ตนเองมีความเชี่ยวชาญเป็นทุนเดิมอยู่แล้ว ประเทศไทยซึ่งอุดมไปด้วยทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ และพืชเส้นใยหลายชนิดจึงควรมีการเตรียมตัวเพื่อให้สามารถแข่งขันได้ในเวทีดลก โดยเริ่มพิจารณาและสนับสนุนการใช้ประโยชน์จากวัตถุดิบที่มีอยู่ในประเทศอย่างจริงจัง บทความนี้กล่าวถึง และนำเสนอแนวทางการใช้ประโยชน์เชิงอุตสาหกรรมของเส้นใยใบสับปะรด ซึ่งเป็นพืชของเหลือทิ้งจากอุตสาหกรรมการปลูกสับปะรด ข้อมูลที่นำเสนอส่วนหนึ่งมาจากแนวทางที่ได้มีการศึกษาวิจัย และตีพิมพ์ไว้แล้วกับเส้นใยธรรมขาติชนิดอื่น ๆ แต่ก็สามารถประยุกต์ใช้กับเส้นใยใบสับปะรดได้เช่นกัน ข้อมูลอีกส่วนหนึ่งมาจากผลงานใหญ่ในกลุ่มวิจัยของผู้เขียนที่คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล Sustainability is one of the current global trends and a driver for bio-based economy. Companies, industrial sectors and governments of leading industrialized countries have been developing tangible uses of natural fiber in many industries. The focus is on plants and fibers that they already have expertise. Thailand is abundant with different kinds of natural resources and plants. We should be prepared to compete successfully in the global arena by considering and promoting the use of available resources. This article considers and proposes the use of pineapple leaf fiber which is obtained from agricultural waste for industrial applications. Part of the presentation was adopted from published literature on other natural fibers which can also be applied to pineapple leaf fiber. The other part was from the authorûs research work carried out at the faculty of science, Mahidol university.
