การท่องเที่ยวเชิงธรณีวิทยา: วัดพระพุทธฉาย สระบุรี (GEOTOURISM: WATPHRAPHUTTHACHAI, SARABURI)

Abstract

วัดพระพุทธฉายนับเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงธรณีวิทยาอีกแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทยที่มีหินซึ่งเกิดจากการระเบิดของภูเขาไฟในยุคเพอร์โม-ไทรแอสซิก หินที่พบส่วนใหญ่เป็น ทัฟฟ์ และไรโอไลติกทัฟฟ์ ก้อนหินเหล่านี้หลงเหลืออยู่ในรูปของภูเขารูปกลมมน ซึ่งผ่านกระบวนการผุพังอยู่กับที่ (Weathering) มาเป็นเวลานานมาก โดยเฉพาะการแตกออกเป็นกาบ (Exfoliation) จากหลักฐานที่ปรากฏบนผิวหินและเนื้อหินซึ่งแสดงการไหลของลาวา และไม่เป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน บ่งชี้ว่าการระเบิดของภูเขาไฟบริเวณนี้เกิดขึ้นหลายระลอกคำสำคัญ: พระพุทธฉาย ทัฟฟ์ ไรโอไลติกทัฟฟ์ การผุพังอยู่กับที่ การแตกออกเป็นกาบThe Phraphutthachai Temple located in Saraburi province is underlain by the volcanic rocks i.e. tuff and rhyolitic tuff dated back to the Permo-Triassic periods. The volcanic eruption might occur more than one episodes indicated by the lava flows and inhomogeneous texture of the rock on its erosion surface. The lithology and landform of the area can be fascinating to the visitors in terms of a geotourism site in Thailand. The rocks have been suffered from physical, biological, as well as chemical weatherings.
