Abstract

Purpose The study was designed to investigate an internal educational quality assurance system in Physical Education Faculty, Srinakharinwirot University.Methods This study was used the qualitative approach. Data were collected from participatory observation and in-depth interviewing including document analysis. The samples were key informant groups consisted of two groups from Physical Education Faculty, that is, students who deep understanding an internal educational quality assurance system of faculty / department and staff who responsible for an internal educational quality assurance system of faculty / department / Dean Office. Each group was 15 people, which is derived from a purposive sampling. Data analysis were identified from the structured information and then organized into major categories. Subsequently, data were code in each topic and check the reliability of qualitative data with the Triangulation. Then, data were analyzed with the layout of the aims of the research in order to find answers the problems for each objective of research along the qualitative analysis and summary with inductive inference.Results revealed as follows:(1) An internal educational quality assurance system in Physical Education Faculty, Srinakharinwirot University composed of three subsystems; quality administration, quality management, and quality operation. The operation system should be composed of three main aspects: 1) the context & input aspect should have six issues include Philosophy and objectives of the agency, the state administration and enterprise management, the budget and resources, curriculum , faculty / academic staff and students , 2 ) the process aspect should have three issues; Management processes related to the production of graduate, process of learning following the curriculum and relationships with external agencies , and 3) the output aspect should have four issues; having job of graduate students by field of study & Satisfaction of the users, the quantity and quality of research, the works in the social services, and the contribution of arts and culture.(2) The Important factor for promoting an internal educational quality assurance system in Physical Education Faculty comprises of leadership factors, Organizational Culture Factors, and personnel factors. Whereas the major obstacle factors toward an internal educational quality assurance system in Physical Education Faculty comprise of Organizational Culture Factors and personnel factors.Conclusion An internal educational quality assurance system of Physical Education Faculty has composed good quality administration system, quality management system and quality operation. Therefore, the committee of faculty should maintain those systems.
