Abstract

This quasi – experimental research was to examine the effectiveness of health educationprogram applying self – efficacy theory on self care in diabetes mellitus patients at health center inBangkok metropolitan. The samples were patients at diabetes mellitus clinic and were selected bypurposive sampling. Thirty of them were selected as an experiment groups while the other thirty wereselected as a comparison groups. The experimental group conducted by the researcher whereas thecomparison group received conventional health education program. Data were gathered by using a selfadministratived questionnaire and fasting blood sugar test. The data were analyzed throughpercentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t – test dependent and t – test independent.The results were as follows:
