Abstract

This research aims to study the treatment with herbs and the ancient recipe of traditional medicine.The research examines is survey research. The subjects is folk healers lived in Amphur Muange Chaiyaphum province. Questionnaires and in-depth interview were used as the research tools. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The result showed 12 herbal healers were male, old age and have treated their patients at least 10 years. They reported that the ancestors passed on the knowledge for them. Most of the healers memorized the knowledge instead of recording. Therefore, there was rarely evidence record found regarding details of each treatment. The treatment procedure would start with historical inquiry and then physical checking by the individual knowledge. Mostly, the folk healers would use herbal preparation accompany with spell. That herbs mostly could be foundat community forestry. It is reported that herbs are a large part of alternative medicine that can be used to treat several common conditions. Herbs can be used as the primary remedies and combining remedies. Every part of herbs (leaves, roots, barks, heartwoods, berries, and flowers) is used to produce medicines depending on type of medicine.
