Abstract

The objective of this research was to study imagery skills use of Karatedo competitors in the41st Thailand National Games 2012 (Chiangmai Games) among 184 competitors in each different agegroups, genders, experiences and sport types. These representative samples were selected by purposivesampling method. "The Sport Imagery Questionnaire (SIQ) and The Imagery Use Questionnaire (IUQ),"in a Thai version translated by Ms.Sasima Phakulanon and Ms.Kanokthip Sawangjaitham were pickedas a tool. After finding standard deviation from the questionnaires, the statistics were analyzed by One-Way ANOVA t-test and F-test. And if there was any statistical significant difference at level of .05, thenthe dual-way comparison from Tukey’s method will be contributed. The research found thatThe Karatedo competitors in different gender had different imagery uses in motivation, relaxationand anxiety that related to the competition and also in terms of imagery use’s time duration at statisticalsignificance of 0.05The Karatedo competitors in different ages had different forms of how their imagery was used,and what was used for imagery use at statistical significance of 0.05The Karatedo competitors who had different experience had different imagery use in sportiveskills developing in terms of using the imagery for competing strategy, opponents facing and impromptuproblems solving, imagery use's time duration and form of imagery use at statistical significance of 0.05.The Karatedo competitors in Thailand who play different kind of Karatedo had different imageryuse in sportive skills developing in terms of using the imagery for competing strategy, opponents facingand impromptu problems solving, and vision seeing from imagery use at statistical significance of 0.05
