Abstract

The purpose of this survey research was to study the food sanitation situation of the twocanteens at Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmitr. The results revealed that: The food sanitationassessment of the two both canteens were at high standard level (over 80% score). The Assessmentof both canteens passed every item in category A, i.e., area in canteen for food consumption and thesurrounding, category B, i.e., area for dishes and utensils cleaning and drying, category C, i.e., areafor storage of dishes and utensils and category D, i.e., garbage and waste water drainage, they werepassed every items except item 16, i.e., they did not have leftover food trap and grease trap.Although the assessment of the both canteens, i.e., the canteens behind the Faculty ofHumanities and the green canteens showed that most of the shops in those canteens had high score(over 80%), but some shops were under standard in some categories, i.e., item 1: should be tidy andproper arrangement, item 5: good quality of fresh food and dry food are kept separately above the floorat least 60 centimeters, item 7: should have cabinet for cooked food and the front of the cabinet ismade of glass, item 9: ice for soft drink must be clean, put in clean container with lid, using long tongsor spoon for ice and the container should above the floor at least 60 centimeters, item 12: usingbetween raw food and cooked food, should have sieved cover for food, item 13: should have properdrainage sink for cleaning dishes and utensils, the sink should have sieve for filtering out the left overfood, and item 14: the non-leakage trash cans should have lids.
