Abstract

The objectives of this survey research were to study and compare the health promotionbehaviors of Merchants at Srinakharinwirot University. The studied variables were sex, ages, levels ofeducation, and types of service. The correlation between perceived benefit of health promotion,perceived barrier of health promotion, perceived self – efficacy, perceived health status and healthpromotion of merchants were analyzed.The samples in this study were 300 merchants selected by quota sampling. Questionnairesconstructed by the researcher were used to collect the data. Percentage, arithmetic mean, standarddeviation, t-test, one way analysis or F-test, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient andstepwise multiple linear regression were used to analyzed the data by a computer program.The results of this were as follows : 1. The merchants had moderate level of health promotion behaviors.2. Merchants with different sex and educational level had no significant differences inhealth promotion behaviors.3. Merchants with different ages and types of services had significant difference in healthpromotion behavior at .05 level.4. Perceived benefit of health promotion, perceived self – efficacy and perceived health* status had positive correlation with health promotion behaviors at .05 level.5. Perceived barrier of health promotion had negative correlation with health promotionbehaviors at .05 level.
