Abstract

(The Implementation of Goal Setting Learning Model to Enhance Learning Achievement Motivation and Achievement of Teacher Students at Suratthani Rajabhat University) Abstract The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the goal setting learning model to enhance learning achievement motivation and achievement; 2) to study the effect of goal setting learning model on learning achievement motivation; and 3) to study effect of goal setting learning model on learning achievement. Subjects consisted of 2 classrooms of first year teacher students who registered  in the subject of Human Relation, in semester two of the academic year 2012. They were purposive selected and randomly assigned into two groups: an experimental  group and a control group. The goal setting learning model consisted of 5 steps: 1) preparation, 2) goal setting, 3) learning, 4) evaluation, and           5) feedback. The intervention involved 8 training sessions, with each session lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. Pretest and posttest, subjects were evaluated on the Achievement Motivation Inventory and Learning Achievement Test. The t-test was employed for data analysis. The results were 1) the efficiency of  goal setting learning model is higher than criterion; 2) learning achievement motivation posttest of experimental group was higher than those in the control group and their pretest at the .05 level of significance; and 3) learning achievement posttest of experimental group were not different from those in control group, however, there were higher than their pretest at the .05 level of significance.   Keywords: goal setting, learning achievement motivation, learning achievement
