Abstract

In accordance with the rise of Internet technology, the learning management systemhas become an appropriate way to support the collaborative teaching between faculty andlibrarians in enhancing the studentsû information literacy skills. The objectives of this researchare to integrate information literacy into curriculum that emphasizes the student-centeredapproach through the learning management system, and to evaluate this learningmanagement system. This study used both qualitative and quantitative researchmethodologies. A sample group was 52 second-year students who took the OfficeAutomation course. The studentsû information literacy competency test and the researchpaper evaluation form were applied to evaluate the integration of information literacy intolearning management system. It is proved that the integration of information literacy into thelearning management system with the collaboration between faculty members and librariansis an efficient model. The model enhances the studentsû information literacy skills andsupports their self-learning. Placing an emphasis on the student-centered approach andactual learning by practices, this model could be applied to any teaching courses toencourage studentsû lifelong learning.
