Abstract
The purposes of this research were to develop criteria for performance appraisalof all academics in the Faculty of Humanities, Srinakharinwirot University and to study theacceptance of these criteria. The first step involved the development of these performanceappraisal criteria and Delphi technique was used to study the recognition of the importanceof such criteria among twenty-three experts. Data of this step were collected byquestionnaire. The data were descriptively analyzed in median and interquartile range. Thesecond step involved the use of questionnaire to study the acceptance of performanceappraisal criteria developed in this research. The subjects of this step were 74 academicsteaching in the academic year of 2008, and they were not the experts in the first step.Findings of the first step showed that selected were 24 out of 25 performance appraisalcriteria in work performance dimension and all those criteria in knowledge, skill and abilitydimension and behavioral and characteristic dimension. Findings of the second steprevealed that almost all performance appraisal criteria in work performance dimension andbehavioral and characteristic dimension were highly accepted. All performance appraisalcriteria in knowledge, skill and ability dimension were also accepted at a high level.Downloads
