Abstract

There are two ways in doing Dewey decimal classification for books. The first wayis to directly classify books by using only the base numbers from their classification schedules.The second way is by using the base number from the classification schedules combining withother numbers. These other numbers are classified into four types: numbers from tables 1-6;numbers created to use with specific base numbers; numbers from other parts of theclassification schedules; and numbers from the identification of the subdivision that follow basenumbers in the classification schedules.
