Abstract

Abstract21st Century skills are very consequential for present day students. In this paper, there are 4 synthesized 21st century skills represented as follows; cognitive skills, communication skills, social skills, and self-directed knowledge development skills. Developing these skills in students are one of the essential duties of the instructor especially for philosophy and religions instruction as it emphasizes on developing critical thinking skill, the cornerstone of 21st century skills, in students. This paper represents the development of 21st century skills in philosophy and religions instruction as follows; cognitive skills by beliefs examination and problem-based learning, communication skills by reading-writing-criticizing-representing exercises, social skills by team-based learning, and self-directed knowledge development skills by learning motivation building and and self-directed learning.Keywords: 21st Century skills, Philosophy and Religions Instruction.
