Abstract


(Learning Inquiry Behavior of Junior High SchoolStudents of the Schools of  RatchaburiDiocese in Ratchaburi Province)Abstract Thepurposes of this research were 1) to study the junior high school students’level of learning inquiry behavior, self- esteem, future-orientation, socialsupport from family and learning atmosphere encouragement from teacher; 2) tocompare the junior high school students’ learning inquiry behavior – base asdifferentiated by gender, level, GPA, parents’ monitoring for student’sstudying perceived by students, type of student and space for learning; and 3)to determine if junior high school students’ self-esteem, future-orientation,social support  from family and learningatmosphere encouragement from teachers are the there predictors of learninginquiry behavior. Sample were 334 students of the schools of RatchaburiDioceses selected by stratified random sampling technique. Instruments used tocollect data were questionnaires constructed by the researcher. Data wereanalyzed for percentage, mean (                         ), standard deviation(S.D.), t-test, One-Way ANOVA and the Stepwise multiple Regression Analysis.The results found that: 1) learning inquiry behavior, self-esteem,future-orientation, social support from family and learning atmosphereencouragement from teacher were at the high level. 2) The junior high schoolsstudents’ learning inquiry behavior- base as differentialed by levels, parents’monitoring for student’s studying and space for learning were different withstatistical significance at .05. However, when classified by gender, GPA andtypes of students were not significantly different. 3) Self-esteem, learningatmosphere encouragement from teacher, future-orientation and social supportfrom family predicted the junior high schools students’ learning inquirybehavior – base at the percentage of 60.1, with a statistical significancelevel of .001.                         Keywords: Learninginquiry behavior, Self-esteem, Future-orientation, Social support from family,Learning atmosphere encouragement from teacher, Junior high school students
